Don't you just hate it...
When you type an entire post & it just disappears???
Our imaginations were running wild, as we wait for April 19th, our second court date. So, we broke down and asked some questions of the adoption counselor. He has authorized Haile, in Ethiopia, to get medical care for the birthmom's child if the child is not well. Hopefully, by now the child is well, for its sake, and to allow the birthmom to make the trip to Addis.
Now, think about that one. Birthmom must leave 4 children at home. Board a flight to the city of Addis, go to court to sign away rights to 2 of her children. Spend the night, board flight back home to 4 children. Can you even imagine? I can't. And, honestly, if she changes her mind & picks A&K right back up from the care center, I couldn't blame her. I would be heartbroken, but I would understand.
How desperate does a mom have to be to drop off kids at a care center, or at the police station? Honestly, the odds of her changing her mind have got to be minimal. The children have been in the care center since mid-October. Those thoughts do run around in my brain as I wait. And, wait. And prepare.
We've been staring at our newest photos, thanks to the Blairs for taking them. Bubbles appear to be a hit. K's head has been shaved again...and the orange hat was gone. No sign of the sunglasses, but no worries...more sunglasses are on their way with the next traveling family. A&K should get their next package of love this weekend.
If we pass court on Monday the 19th, we should hopefully be able to make the 5/26 embassy appointment. We continue to wait, and try to reign in those over-active imaginations.
