The DVD arrived!!

After a full few days of playoff basketball games for Geoffrey (ending in a heart wrenching loss, losing by one)...we got home late Friday night to find the envelope with the DVD in our mail box. Suddenly, I was no longer tired!!

Turns out, the DVD was not of them opening their care packages, but in one section the kids at the care center did some dancing around a fire welcoming the agency director. Not K, mind you, he appears to feel dancing is beneath him. He was quite intrigued with the fire though. A, on the other hand, danced her sweet feet the entire time...even if the line stopped, she kept moving her feet & shoulders. Paul is convinced she has music in her soul, not that he's biased or anything.

The last section on the DVD, is the kids saying their own names. We've listened to that few seconds of A's soft voice over & over (and over, and over). We've realized, our English translation is not even close to how they sound in Tigrinya or Amharic. We spent the rest of the weekend negotiating on names we can actually pronounce...with no conclusions, I might add.

She's wearing the shirt we sent over in the video. Only, it fits more like a dress...re-thinking our size choices once again.

Our paperwork has now been in Ethiopia for one full week, but I must admit, it feels ever so much longer.

We bought a large rolling duffel this weekend, it stuffs inside another one we have, which is what we're told we'll want for our return flight...our bedroom looks like we could be leaving in a week instead of the trip being 8-10 weeks out. Nothing like being prepared! Our checklist seems to stay about the same length, with outfits, underclothes, shoes etc., as the children will basically come to us with nothing. It would seem my list should get shorter, but it doesn't!
