Atsede crawled into my lap

without prompting, without being asked...just to cuddle with me. She wasn't hurt, hungry or tired...just wanted loves. HUGE PROGRESS!! I'd wondered if we'd ever get this this point.

Both Atsede & Kebrom's language seems to have taken a jump. Kebrom now asks if 'he can watch the train DVD?' complete with inflection. He's a Thomas fan for sure. Atsede still has the cutest combination of charades & words...but the words are coming. It appears she thinks 'hungry' means 'food.' She commented yesterday, as we were putting dishes away, they were for 'hungry.'

Both children are extremely strong-willed. Kebrom is very willing to disobey, but then he feels HORRIBLE & cries. He still mutters the word 'mutfoh' under his breath, sometimes quite loudly (it means bad) and is usually directed at a sibling. Common discussion, 'Kebrom, say sorry to Atsede.' 'Atsede, mutfoh.' 'No, Kebrom, we don't call people mutfoh, say you're sorry.' 'Atsede, mutfoh.' (repeat) until finally, 'Charlie' (which is how he pronounces sorry) Then much wailing. Wouldn't it be easier to just NOT call her mutfoh in the first place?

We may not make it to the mall, or quietly through a grocery store, or even be able to attend church right now on a regular basis, but, our lives are forever changed. How boring life would be without these 2 little ones. I'm so glad God brought them into our forever family, a place where family is truly forever.

Four more months til they will have been with us longer than they were in the care center. I'm looking forward to that milestone. For now, I'll take the cuddles, the mutfoh & anything else heading my way.
