Choose a birthday?
Now, isn't that a funny decision. We were never able to choose any other of our children's birthdays...just took what we got.
So, we did what we've been doing through this process...we negotiated, trying to avoid masses of family birthday's grouped together. And, let's face it, our extended family herd is quite large, lots of dates to contend with. Add to that factor, we do not want to make A&K older than they actually are. We've never seen a photo that gives us a clear picture of how tall they even are. If only someone would photograph them holding a yardstick! (one in inches, not metric!) We truly want to be as accurate as possible, but the likelihood of that seems somewhat like finding a needle in a haystack. (And, having recently lost my scissors in the hay in our barn...)
Children got into the fray of the birthday negotiations as well. Wanting to share their birthdays, which I found to be very sweet! In the end, we settled on A sharing Paul's birthdate of June 25th (I'm sure you've all heard him expound on the virtues of the perfect birthday, exactly 6 months from Christmas!). K will share Super Gramp's birthday of September 3rd.
Oh, did I mention we've changed A's birthday once already? I wonder at what point we won't be allowed to change our minds anymore...better email the agency office.
